Human Rights Help (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent, non‑lawyer support service in Alberta. We provide informational and administrative assistance to individuals navigating the Alberta Human Rights Commission (AHRC) process. We are not a law firm, do not provide legal advice, and do not provide legal representation. We are not affiliated with the Alberta Human Rights Commission.
3. Critical Disclaimer: Not Legal Advice
THE INFORMATION, MATERIALS, AND SERVICES WE PROVIDE ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ONLY AND DO NOT CONSTITUTE LEGAL ADVICE. Using our services does not create a lawyer‑client relationship.
- No Legal Advice: We cannot and will not provide any legal advice, including opinions on the strength of your case, what legal grounds to select, or what decisions to make during the AHRC process.
- No Representation: We will not represent you before the AHRC, negotiate on your behalf, or speak for you in any legal or administrative proceeding.
- Consult a Lawyer: For legal advice specific to your situation, you must consult a qualified lawyer. Resources include Legal Aid Alberta and the Law Society of Alberta Lawyer Referral Service.

- Making all final decisions regarding your human rights complaint;
- Reviewing, approving, and submitting all documents to the AHRC that we prepare based on your instructions; and
- Complying with all AHRC deadlines and procedures.

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and the overall design, is our property or the property of our content suppliers and is protected by copyright laws. You may access and use the content for your personal, non‑commercial use only.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Human Rights Help, its operators, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from: (a) your use or inability to use our services; (b) your reliance on any information provided by us; or (c) the outcome of your human rights complaint or any interactions with the AHRC. Our services are provided “as is” without any warranties, express or implied.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Human Rights Help and its operators from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of our services, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third‑party rights.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any legal disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Alberta.
9. Changes to Terms
We may modify or replace these terms at any time. We will post the updated terms on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
